Governance: Objectives
Print   Mail To Friend

Virtually every organization works on or considers the added value of IT to the business. This added value is optimal when the delivery of IT services is perfectly aligned to the requirements of the business. In most businesses and organizations, this optimum situation is more a noble ambition than an everyday practice. What is the reason for this?

Over the last few years, supply management (the “supply side”) has been professionalized by means of sourcing governance and the acceptance of models such as the Quint Sourcing Governance Framework. On the other hand, domains such as efficient bundling of the demand for IT services (the “demand”) and adequate gearing of demand and supply to one another in practice, often prove to be neglected. And the latter goes for both the IT side as well as the business side of the organization.

Demand Supply Governance offers the best of both worlds: smart bundling of the demand of the business and balancing this against the possibilities and costs of effective delivery of IT services. Each organization that wishes to lift the added value of IT to a higher plane, should at least carefully consider Demand Supply Governance!

The concrete objectives we realize for our clients are:

  • Speeding up the time-to-market of IT projects by improving the initiation and control of business initiated projects
  • Demonstrable improvement of the effectiveness of outsourcing contracts
  • Reducing the costs of the use of IT
  • Consolidating the grip on composition, quality and costs of new and existing service provision

Our approach is based on a standardized methodology: Demand Supply Governance FrameworkTM. This CobiT- and BiSL-based framework provides our clients and us with a practical frame of reference in the design, operationalization and management of governance organizations. The framework includes predefined organizational designs, processes, procedures, function profiles, competency profiles and practical manuals.

Apart from the Demand Supply Governance Framework, we offer our clients a governance dashboard. In this dashboard, a total of more than 150 governance-related KPIs are combined into one single, neatly arranged control tool for demand and supply management. The governance dashboard is implemented by Quint in cooperation with our partners, Mirror42 and Giarte.

In our assignments and solutions we use:

  • CobiT
  • BiSL
  • ITIL v3
  • Val IT
  • ASL
